Call for Scores 2016 Winner Announced!

Congratulations to Christopher Adler, winner of our Call for Scores 2016! Christopher's String Quartet is a wonderful three-movement work that explores and combines various musical traditions from Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Albania and northern Europe. To learn more about Christopher, you can read a brief bio below.

Tesla Quartet takes multiple prizes at 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition

After performing eight string quartets in five rounds over seven days, we are extremely honored (and exhausted...) to announce that we are the 2nd Prize Winners of the 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition! In addition to our overall prize, we won the R.S. Williams & Sons Haydn Prize for the best performance of a Haydn quartet and the Canadian Commission Prize for the best performance of Zosha di Castri's String Quartet No. 1. Our prize also includes a fully funded future residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.

Tesla Quartet named Marjorie Young Bell String Quartet-in-Residence at Mount Allison University

The Tesla Quartet has been named the Marjorie Young Bell String Quartet-in-Residence in the Department of Music at Mount Allison University for the 2016-17 academic year. This residency, funded by the Marjorie Young Bell Endowment Fund, has been established in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Mount Allison's first Bachelor of Music degree and the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music.
