As we approach the start of a new concert season, we thought we'd share a few highlights from this summer's activities. In June, we spent a week at Stanford University as part of the St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar. We had a great time performing with the St. Lawrence Quartet in a Sinfonia by CPE Bach and the Mendelssohn Octet, and we had the opportunity to work with the wonderful Osvaldo Golijov, whose Tenebrae we'll be performing later this season. We're looking forward to returning to Stanford this fall for a residency in their Emerging String Quartet Program.

Next up was a two-week residency at the Swannanoa Chamber Music Festival in North Carolina. Highlights include performances of the Mozart Clarinet Quintet with Alexander Fiterstein and the Korngold Piano Quintet with Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Vadym Kholodenko. We also enjoyed bringing a brand new multimedia string quartet to life, The Image of Sound, by festival director Inessa Zaretsky and visual artist Sally Boon Matthews.

As summer winds down, we're about to head to Europe, with appearances at the 10th Haydn String Quartet Festival at the Esterhazy Palace in Hungary and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival in Germany, where we'll perform together with new friends the Armida Quartett and Cecilia String Quartet. Look for a recap of these exciting activities here this fall!
