Tesla wins Gold at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition

This past weekend we participated in the 2012 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, IN.  This yearly competition is one of the most prestigious of its kind for young American ensembles, and we're proud to announce that we took home the Gold Medal!  Stay tuned for more information regarding our fall Winner's Tour, as well as photos from the competition.

The South Bend Tribune published a nice article about our return to the Fischoff Competition last week, and you can view it by CLICKING HERE.

Tesla Quartet Farewell Jubilee!

To say goodbye to Boulder, and also to use the word "jubilee" more often, we're having a farewell concert on Tuesday, May 8th at CU School of Music's Grusin Hall.  The entrance to the hall is just inside the front doors of the music school, so it's easy to find.  We hope to see all our Colorado friends there, as we would love to say goodbye before moving back to the east coast next year.

The program will include Haydn's Op. 20 No. 2, Mozart's "Dissonance" Quartet, and Schubert's "Death and the Maiden."  Hope to see you there!

Third Prize in London!

Hello all,

As you have probably heard, we just returned from the London International String Quartet Competition at Wigmore Hall as the 3rd Prize winners!

We are thrilled about our success, and we've had a lot of positive fallout, including a wonderful review in one of the London papers.  If you would like to read that, then click here. We are looking forward to our resulting concerts and grateful for all the great contacts we made in the last two weeks.  We're also very grateful for all of you, who have made us feel so supported and cheered on.  Your emails, facebook messages, and phone calls go a long way to help us, so thank you. They will also help as we decide what path to take in our near future, as our time in Boulder comes to an end this May.  We have a lot of great things to look forward to, including the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in May, so stay posted!  We'll keep the updates coming.

Tesla on the Radio

We're honoring our namesake this month by performing on one of his inventions... yep, you can hear the Tesla Quartet on the radio on Sunday, November 27 or Monday, November 28, between 7:30 and 9 pm.  You can either listen to Charlie Sampson's show directly on Colorado Public Radio, or those of you who are out of range can listen on their website, cpr.org.  The link is http://www.cpr.org/#load_category_page|Classical_Music.  If that link doesn't work directly, then go to www.cpr.org and click on classical music.  Then click "Listen to classical music" at the top of the page.  On the show, you'll hear both our interview with Mr. Sampson and our renditions of the first movement of Debussy's Quartet and third movement of Carter Pann's "Love Letters."  We hope you can join us!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

We are grateful for you, all our wonderful supporters and fans.  It is difficult to express how blessed we feel to be doing what we are doing, and we know that it is only possible because of you.  This year has been a big year of changes for the Tesla Quartet, and we are pleased with the results.  First and foremost, the fabulous Michelle Lie joined us, and we are thrilled to have her.  We've been hearing great feedback from all of you, and we hope that you will continue to enjoy our music for a long time to come.  Thank you so much for all your support.
